The 117th Annual Wisconsin State Open Championship Tournament Opens In Wausau
The 117th edition of the Wisconsin State Open Championship opened on January 12th at Dale's Weston Lanes in Weston, WI.
This year's "Joe Bowler" was Ron Rixmann from Osceola who carries a 145 average. Ron donned the cape and crown to roll the first ball down the lanes to open the event, and earned $10 in gold coins for his effort.
The event runs until May 5th and we expect over 10,000 bowlers to come through the doors at Dale's Weston Lanes. This is the first time the event will be held in the same center for all 3 events. We're happy to partner with the Wausau Area USBC to help run this event.
Tournament sponsors include Miller Coors, Motiv Bowling, Wausau Central Wisconsin CVB and the Texas Roadhouse.
